St. Joseph’s Hospital, established in 1953, has grown from a humble dispensary into a renowned multi-speciality healthcare facility, providing quality medical care to all sections of society. Situated in Kothamangalam, Kerala, the hospital is part of the Dharmagiri legacy, founded in 1934 by Msgr. Joseph C. Panjikaran, the visionary behind the Medical Sisters of St. Joseph. His mission was clear: to offer compassionate medical care, especially to the poor and underprivileged, radiating the “Compassionate Love of Jesus Christ” to everyone in need.
Over the years, St. Joseph’s Hospital has expanded significantly and is now a 300-bed multi-specialty hospital, offering a wide range of medical services, including surgical and super-specialty care. In addition to its clinical services, the hospital also houses a School of Nursing, an INC-recognized College of Nursing, and a School of Medical Laboratory Technology, ensuring quality education for healthcare professionals.
As part of its commitment to community health, St. Joseph’s Hospital has initiated various programs such as rural medical aid and regular free eye camps in Idukki and Ernakulam districts, reinforcing its mission to reach and support underserved communities.

We are proud to introduce Dr. Sajith Kurian, an expert in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. With extensive training and international experience, Dr. Kurian holds fellowships in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine (IOA) and Joint Replacement (Apollo). He is also a member of the Olympic and Paralympic Medical Team for the Paris Olympics 2024, bringing world-class expertise to our facility.
