These designs utilize exclusively locally sourced materials, significantly reducing the project’s carbon footprint, and integrally include the valuable ideas and traditional construction knowledge of local artisans. These homespun, culturally rooted designs have been expertly paired with the time-honored local knowledge of sustainable construction methods and techniques. This expertise was then augmented by an enthusiastic, collaborative team of international and local experts specializing in critical areas such as regional architecture and contextual design, structural engineering, innovative water harvesting and energy management systems, responsible community tourism, and traditional craft development. The successful realization of this unique vision was executed through the combined efforts of the Uravu Eco Links construction team and IN:CH architects + planners, who served as the main members directing the detailed design and comprehensive construction process of the Uravu Bamboo Grove.
