Kozhikode: കാപ്പാട് തീരത്ത് ചരിത്ര മ്യൂസിയം യാഥാർത്ഥ്യമാക്കാനൊരുങ്ങി സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാർ. കാപ്പാട് മുനമ്പത്തിനടുത്തുള്ള സ്ഥലം, ധനമന്ത്രി കെ എൻ ബാലഗോപാൽ സന്ദർശിച്ചു. മ്യൂസിയത്തിൻ്റെ പ്രാരംഭ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കായി സംസ്ഥാന ബജറ്റിൽ 10 കോടി രൂപ അനുവദിച്ചിരുന്നു. ബ്ലൂ ഫ്ലാഗ് പദവി ലഭിച്ച കോഴിക്കോട് കാപ്പാട് തീരത്ത് ചരിത്ര മ്യൂസിയം ഒരുങ്ങും. ആയിരകണക്കിന് വിനോദ സഞ്ചാരികൾ എത്തുന്ന കാപ്പാടിൻ്റെ ചരിത്ര പ്രാധാന്യം പഠിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ആഗോള തലത്തിലുള്ള പഠന കേന്ദ്രമാണ് വിഭാവനം ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
പോർച്ചുഗീസ് നാവികനായ വാസ്കോ ഡ ഗാമ 1498ൽ കപ്പൽ ഇറങ്ങിയതിൻ്റെ ഓർമ്മക്കായി നിർമ്മിച്ച സ്മാരകം മാത്രമാണ് കാപ്പാടുള്ളത്. നിർദ്ദിഷ്ട മ്യൂസിയം നിർമ്മിക്കാനുദ്ദേശിക്കുന്ന കാപ്പാട് മുനമ്പത്തെ സ്ഥലം മന്ത്രി കെ എൻ ബാലഗോപാൽ സന്ദർശിച്ചു.
Kozhikode: The state government is preparing to establish a historical museum at Kappad Beach. State Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal visited the site near the Kappad shore. An allocation of ₹10 crore was made in the state budget for the initial works of the museum. The museum will be set up at Kappad Beach in Kozhikode, which has received the prestigious Blue Flag certification.
The project envisions a global-level research and study center that will enable visitors to learn about the historical significance of Kappad, a location that attracts thousands of tourists. Currently, the only memorial at Kappad is the monument commemorating Portuguese navigator Vasco da Gama’s landing in 1498. Minister K.N. Balagopal visited the proposed site for the construction of the museum at Kappad shore.
