Malappuram: നിർമ്മാണത്തിലിരുന്ന ദേശീയപാത 66 ലെ ആറുവരിപ്പാത ഇടിഞ്ഞുവീണ സംഭവത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷേധവുമായി നാട്ടുകാർ. റോഡ് തകര്‍ന്നതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് നാട്ടുകാര്‍ ദേശീയപാത അതോറിറ്റിക്കെതിരെ കുത്തിയിരുന്ന് പ്രതിഷേധം നടത്തി. റോഡ് നിർമാണത്തിലെ അപാകതയാണ് അപകടത്തിന് കാരണമെന്ന് നാട്ടുകാർ ആരോപിച്ചു. സര്‍വീസ് റോഡാണ് ആദ്യം ഇടിഞ്ഞത്. ഇതിന് പിന്നാലെ പുതിയ ആറ് വരി പാതയുടെ ഭാഗവും സര്‍വീസ് റോഡിലേക്ക് ഇടിഞ്ഞു.
മലപ്പുറം കൂരിയാടിനും കൊളപ്പുറത്തിനും ഇടയിലാണ് അപകടം ഉണ്ടായത്. ഇതുവഴി സഞ്ചരിച്ചിരുന്ന കാറുകൾക്ക് മുകളിലേക്കാണ് ദേശീയപാതയുടെ സംരക്ഷണ ഭിത്തി മറിഞ്ഞുവീണത്. തലനാരിഴയ്ക്കാണ് യാത്രക്കാർ രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടത്. അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങൾ വീണ റോഡിൽ വലിയ വിള്ളലുകൾ രൂപപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.
Malappuram: In Malappuram, locals staged a protest after a section of the under-construction six-lane National Highway 66 collapsed. The initial collapse began with the service road, followed by a part of the new highway falling onto the service road.
The incident occurred between Kooriyad and Kollappuram. The highway’s retaining wall fell onto moving cars below, but the passengers narrowly escaped without injuries. The collapse left large cracks on the road surface, and locals blamed construction flaws for the accident, staging a sit-in protest against the National Highways Authority.
