In the Thamarassery high-range region, the general strike was nearly total. Most shops remained closed, and strike supporters shut down the few that were open. Minimal private vehicles were on the roads, with only a few goods vehicles passing. Some KSRTC buses operated to Wayanad via Thamarassery.
