Kochi: കുട്ടമ്പുഴ മാമലകണ്ടത്ത് ഭർത്താവ് ഭാര്യയെ തലയ്ക്കടിച്ചു കൊന്നു. എളമ്പളശേരി സ്വദേശിനി മായ (37) ആണ് കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടത്. ഭർത്താവ് ജിജോ ജോണിനെ പൊലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തു.ഇന്ന് പുലർച്ചെയാണ് വീട്ടിൽ ആശവർക്കർമാരെത്തിയപ്പോൾ മായയെ മരിച്ച നിലയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയത്. ഭർത്താവ് ജിജോ അടുത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇന്നലെ രാത്രിയാണ് സംഭവം.
രാത്രി വീട്ടിലുണ്ടായ തർക്കത്തിൽ ഭാര്യയെ തലക്കടിച്ചു കൊലപ്പെടുത്തുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് ഭർത്താവ് പൊലീസിന് മൊഴി നൽകി. പൊലീസ് സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി ഇയാളെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തു. എന്താണ് കൊലപാതകത്തിന് കാരണമെന്ന് വ്യക്തമല്ല. ഭാര്യയെ സംശയാസ്പദമായി കണ്ടുവെന്നും ഇയാൾ പൊലീസിന് മൊഴി നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇക്കാര്യം പൊലീസ് അന്വേഷിച്ചുവരികയാണ്. മായ ആദിവാസി വിഭാഗത്തിൽപെടുന്ന സ്ത്രീയാണ്. ഭർത്താവ് ഇവിടെയായിരുന്നു താമസം. ഇവർക്കൊരു കുട്ടിയുണ്ടെന്നും സംഭവ സമയത്ത് കുട്ടി വീട്ടിലില്ലായിരുന്നുവെന്നും പൊലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു. ഇൻക്വസ്റ്റ് നടപടികൾക്ക് ശേഷം മൃതദേഹം ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റും.
Kochi: In Kuttampuzha Mamalakandam, a husband killed his wife by striking her on the head. The deceased has been identified as Maya (37), a native of Elambalassery. The police have taken her husband, Jijo John, into custody. The incident came to light early this morning when healthcare workers arrived at the house and found Maya dead, with Jijo present nearby. The crime reportedly took place last night.
During police questioning, Jijo confessed that he killed his wife during a heated argument at home by hitting her on the head. However, the exact motive behind the murder remains unclear. He claimed that he suspected his wife of infidelity, which is now under police investigation.
Maya belonged to an indigenous tribal community, and her husband had been living with her. The couple had a child, but the child was not at home at the time of the incident, according to the police. The body will be transferred to the hospital after the inquest procedures are completed.
