ഏതാനും വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ് ഇവിടെ പെരുന്തേൻ കൂട് ഇളകിഉണ്ടായ ഈച്ചകളുടെ ആക്രമത്തിൽ ഒരാൾ മരിച്ചിരുന്നു ഏതാനും പേർക്ക് അന്ന് പരിക്കേൽക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
വേനൽ കടുത്തതോടെ ഇടയ്ക്കിടയ്ക്ക് പെരുന്നേൻ കൂട് ഇളകി കൂട്ടത്തോടെ ഈച്ചകൾ പറക്കുന്നതായി പ്രദേശവാസികൾ പറയുന്നു. സ്ഥലം വാർഡ് മെമ്പറെ വിവരമറിയിച്ചെങ്കിലും പെരുന്തേൻ കൂട് കത്തിച്ച് അപകടം ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നതിന് പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ ഫണ്ട് ഉണ്ട്. ഏതെങ്കിലും രീതിയിൽ പൊതുജനങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇത് സഹായകരമാകും
ഒന്നിലധികം പെരുന്തേൻ കൂടുകൾ പാലത്തിന് അടിയിൽ ഉണ്ടെന്നാണ് പ്രദേശവാസികൾ പറയുന്നത്. പ്രദേശവാസികൾ അടക്കം നിരവധി ആളുകളാണ് കുളിക്കാനും വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ അലക്കാനും ആയി ദിവസേന ഈ പുഴയിൽ എത്തുന്നത്. അടിയന്തരമായി പെരുന്തേൻ കൂട് കത്തിച്ച് അപകടം ഒഴിവാക്കണമെന്ന് നാട്ടുകാരുടെ ആവശ്യം.
Kodancherry Gram Panchayat’s Mundoor-Anakampoyil road, near Kandappachal market, has a large hornet’s nest under the Kandappachal bridge, posing a threat to the local residents.
A few years ago, a person lost their life due to a hornet attack when a nest was disturbed, and several others were injured. With the increasing summer heat, locals report that the nest shakes occasionally, causing swarms of hornets to fly out.
The issue has been reported to the ward member, and while the panchayat has funds allocated for burning the nest to prevent any accidents, no action has been taken yet. Residents believe that multiple hornet nests exist under the bridge, increasing the risk.
Many people, including locals, visit the river daily for bathing and washing clothes. The residents are urging authorities to take immediate action to remove the nest and prevent potential danger.
