Kodanchery: മഞ്ഞുവയൽ പൊട്ടൻകോട് മലയിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ പുലിയുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം കണ്ടെത്തിയ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ വനം വകുപ്പ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ പരിശോധന നടത്തി സെക്ഷൻ ഫോറെസ്റ്റ് ഓഫീസർ പി. വിജയൻ, ബി.എഫ്.ഓ മാരായ ബിമൽദാസ് എം, എഡിസൺ ഇ, വാച്ചർ മരായ ബിജു. പി. സി, ശ്രീകാന്ത്. പി ബി എന്നിവരാണ് പരിശോധന നടത്തിയത്.
കഴിഞ്ഞവർഷവും ഇതേ സമയത്ത് പ്രദേശത്ത് പുലി ഭക്ഷിച്ച ഇരയുടെ അവശിഷ്ടം കണ്ടെത്തിയിരുന്നു. പ്രദേശത്ത് അടിയന്തരമായി ക്യാമറ സ്ഥാപിച്ച് വനംവകുപ്പ് നിരീക്ഷണം ശക്തമാക്കി പുലിയെ പിടികൂടാൻ ഉള്ള നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കണമെന്ന് മണ്ഡലം കോൺഗ്രസ് കമ്മിറ്റി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. പ്രദേശവാസികൾക്ക് പുറത്തിറങ്ങാൻ പറ്റാത്ത സാഹചര്യമാണെന്നും പുലിയുടെയും വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളുടെയും നിരന്തര സാന്നിധ്യം മൂലം റബർ ടാപ്പിങ്ങും മറ്റു തൊഴിലുകളും നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് ദുരിതത്തിൽ ആയിരിക്കുകയാണെന്നും യോഗം ആരോപിച്ചു.
ബ്ലോക്ക് കോൺഗ്രസ് പ്രസിഡണ്ട് ജോബി ഇലന്തൂർ യോഗം ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. മണ്ഡലം കോൺഗ്രസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് വിൻസന്റ് വടക്കേമുറിയിൽ അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ചു. ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡന്റ് അലക്സ് തോമസ്, യുഡിഎഫ് ചെയർമാൻ കെ എം പൗലോസ്, ബ്ലോക്ക് പഞ്ചായത്ത് മെമ്പർ റോയി കുന്നപ്പള്ളി, ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്ത് മെമ്പർ റോസമ്മ കയത്തുങ്കൽ,സണ്ണി കാപ്പാട്ട് മല, ആഗസ്തി പല്ലാട്ട്, ഫ്രാൻസിസ് ചാലിൽ, ബിജു ഓത്തിക്കൽ,ബേബി കളപ്പുര, ജെയിംസ് അഴകത്ത്, ചാക്കോ ഓരത്ത്, ജോസ് തുരുത്തിയിൽ, ടോമി പെരുമ്പനാനി, കുട്ടിച്ചൻ കാരൂപ്പാറ, മാത്യു പൊട്ടുകുളത്ത് എന്നിവർ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.
The Forest Department officials conducted an inspection in Manjuvayal Pottankode Hills, Kodanchery, where the presence of a tiger was detected in recent days. The inspection was led by Section Forest Officer P. Vijayan, along with BFOs Bimaldas M. and Edison E., and watchers Biju P. C. and Sreekanth P. B.
Last year, around the same time, the remains of a prey animal killed by a tiger were found in the same area. The Mandalam Congress Committee has demanded that the Forest Department immediately install cameras for monitoring and take necessary action to capture the tiger. They also stated that the continuous presence of the tiger and other wild animals has created fear among the residents, affecting their daily activities like rubber tapping and other occupations.
The meeting was inaugurated by Block Congress President Joby Elanthoor, with Mandalam Congress President Vincent Vadakkemuriyil presiding. Other attendees included Grama Panchayat President Alex Thomas, UDF Chairman K. M. Paulose, Block Panchayat Member Roy Kunnappally, Grama Panchayat Member Rosamma Kayathunkal, Sunny Kappattmala, Agasthi Pallatt, Francis Chalil, Biju Othikkal, Baby Kalappura, James Azhakath, Chacko Orath, Jose Thuruthiyil, Tomy Perumbanani, Kuttichan Karupara, and Mathew Pottukulath.
