Kodanchery: Kozhikode ജില്ലയിൽ Mountain highway യുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി പൂർത്തീകരിച്ച ആദ്യ റീച്ച്-Thiruvamady മണ്ഡലത്തിലെ Kodancherry-Kakkadam Poyil റോഡ്- ഉദ്ഘാടനം 15 ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി Pinarayi Vijayan നിർവഹിക്കും. വൈകീട്ട് മുന്നിന് St. Sebastian Higher Secondary School, Koodaranji ലാണ് പരിപാടി. കുടിയേറ്റ മേഖലയിലെ കർഷക ജനതയുടെ യാത്രാ ദുരിതത്തിന് വിരാമമാവുന്നതോടൊപ്പം മലയോര ഹൈവേ വലിയ വികസന മുന്നേറ്റം കുടിയാണുണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്
2016ൽ അധികാരത്തിൽ വന്ന സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരിന്റെ സ്വപ്ന പദ്ധതികളിൽ ഒന്നായിരുന്നു മലയോര ഹൈവേ. ആദ്യഘ ട്ടത്തിൽ കോഴിക്കോട് പദ്ധതിയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നില്ല. പിന്നീട് വാളാർ മുതൽ കക്കാടംപൊയിൽ വരെയുള്ള ഭാഗത്തെ ലൂപ് റോഡായി അംഗീകരിക്കുകയും 2020 ൽ George M. Thomas MLA ആയിരുന്ന സമയം റീച്ചിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. മലയോര ഹൈവേയുടെ നിർമാണ ചുമതല ഊരാളുങ്കൽ ലേബർ സൊസൈറ്റിക്കായിരുന്നു. തിരുവമ്പാടി മണ്ഡലത്തിലൂടെ മലയോര ഹൈവേയുടെ മൂന്നു റീച്ചുകൾ കടന്നുപോകുന്നുണ്ട്. അതിൽ ഏറ്റവും ദൈർഖ്യം കൂടിയ റീച്ചും ഇതാണ്. അനുബന്ധ റോഡ് അടക്കം 221 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവഴിക്കുന്ന, 34.3 കി. മീ ദൂര മുള്ള റീച്ചിന് 12 മീറ്റർ വീതിയാണുള്ളത്. പാതയുടെ ഇരുവശത്തും ഓടകളും ഭൂഗർഭ കേബിളുകളും പൈപ്പുകളും കടന്നു പോകുന്നതിനുള്ള സംവിധാനങ്ങളും സൗരോർജ്ജ വിളക്കുകളും സിഗ്നൽ ലൈറ്റുകളും ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
പ്രധാന കവലകളിൽ കോൺ ക്രീറ്റ് കട്ടകൾ പാകിയ നടപ്പാതകൾ, ബസ് സ്റ്റോപ്പുകൾ, കൈവരികൾ എന്നിവയമുണ്ട്. കുമ്പാറയിലെയും കൂടരഞ്ഞി വീട്ടിപ്പാറ യിലെയും രണ്ട് പാലങ്ങൾ കുടി ഇതിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. കൂടരഞ്ഞി, തിരുവമ്പാടി, കോടഞ്ചേരി ഗ്രാമ പഞ്ചായത്തുകളിലൂടെ കടന്നു പോകുന്ന റോഡ് നിർദിഷ്ട ആനക്കാംപൊയിൽ-കള്ളാടി തുരങ്ക പാതയിലയ്ക്ക് എത്തുന്ന തിരുവമ്പാടി- മറിപ്പുഴ റോഡുമായും ചേരുന്നു. ദുർഘടമായ ഭൂപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലൂടെ അത്യാധുനിക നിലവാരത്തിലുള്ള മനോഹരപാത സാധ്യമാക്കിയതിൽ ഒട്ടേറെ ഘടകങ്ങൾ പങ്കുവഹിച്ചതായി സ്ഥലം George M. Thomas MLA പറഞ്ഞു. പൂർണമായും ജനങ്ങൾ സൗജന്യമായി വിട്ടു നൽകിയ പ്രദേശത്തു കൂടിയാണ് ഹൈവേ കടന്നു പോകുന്നത്. MLA യുടെയും പ്രാദേശികമായുണ്ടാക്കിയ കമ്മറ്റികളുടെയും ഇടപെടലിലൂടെയാണ് പ്രവൃത്തി പൂർത്തീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. സ്ഥലം വിട്ടുനൽകിയവർക്ക് സംരക്ഷണ ഭിത്തി നിർമിച്ചു നൽകുകയും ചെയ്തു.
The first completed reach of the Malanad Highway in Kozhikode district, the Kodanchery-Kakkadampoyil Road in the Thiruvambady constituency, will be inaugurated on the 15th by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The event will take place at St. Sebastian Higher Secondary School, Koodaranji, at 3 PM. This road not only brings relief to the farming community in migrant settlements by easing travel difficulties but also marks a significant development milestone for the Malanad Highway.
The Malanad Highway was one of the dream projects of the state government after coming to power in 2016. Initially, Kozhikode was not included in the first phase of the project. However, the stretch from Valayar to Kakkadampoyil was later approved as a loop road, and construction of this reach began in 2020 under the leadership of then MLA George M. Thomas. The Uralungal Labor Society was responsible for its construction.
The Malanad Highway passes through the Thiruvambady constituency in three reaches, and this is the longest reach. Spanning 34.3 km with a width of 12 meters, this section was built at a cost of ₹221 crore, including associated roads. The road is equipped with drainage systems, underground cabling, pipelines, solar-powered streetlights, and signal lights.
Additionally, major junctions have concrete-paved footpaths, bus stops, and guardrails. Two bridges at Kumbarayil and Koodaranji Veetippara are also part of the project. This road passes through Koodaranji, Thiruvambady, and Kodanchery panchayats, connecting to the proposed Anakkampoyil-Kalladi Tunnel Road and linking to the Thiruvambady-Marippuzha Road.
Local MLA Linto Joseph highlighted the collective efforts behind the completion of this modern road through challenging terrains. The land for the project was voluntarily contributed by local residents, and the intervention of the MLA and regional committees ensured its smooth completion. Protective walls were also constructed for those who provided land.
