Kozhikode: A Narikkuni native has been arrested for sexually assaulting a school student. The accused, Jamsheer (40) from Pulikkalppara Kunnaratht House, was arrested by the Kundamangalam police under the POCSO Act.
The incident took place in February 2025, when the accused allegedly picked up the student, who was waiting for a bus in Vellannur, on his scooter and attempted to assault them with sexual intent. Following this, the Kundamangalam police registered a case and launched an investigation. Based on the directive of Station Inspector Kiran, SI Nidhin took the accused into custody. He was later produced in court and remanded.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the accused also has a POCSO case registered against him in Kalpetta, Wayanad.
