The Omassery Fest, which spans over ten days, kicked off with great enthusiasm. The event is organized under the leadership of the Gram Panchayat with the aim of raising funds for the Palliative Care Unit through various activities. The opening ceremony took place at a specially arranged venue in Omassery, where the Gram Panchayat President, P.K. Gangadharan, inaugurated the fest. The Vice President, Fathima Abu, presided over the event, while the General Convener of the organizing committee, Yunus Ambalakkandy, extended a warm welcome. Film, TV, and Mimic actor Devaraj Dev Kozhikode was the chief guest, and the Working Convener, P.V. Swadikh, provided an overview of the event. Various speakers, including K. Karunakaran Master, Zeenath Thattanchery, K. Anandakrishnan, K.K. Abdullakkutty, O.M. Sreenivasan Nair, U.K. Husain, T. Sreenivasan, O.P. Abdul Rahman, and Naushad Chembar, also addressed the gathering. The Coordinator of the organizing committee, R.M. Anees, expressed gratitude. The inauguration was followed by a musical performance by renowned artists.As part of the festivities, a Harvest Festival, Agricultural Product Exhibition, Marketing Fair, Seminar, Farmer Felicitation, and Quiz competition were organized at Royad Farm House. The Harvest Festival became a major celebration with hundreds of participants. The Agricultural Fair was inaugurated by K.M. Ashraf Master, the President of Koduvally Block Panchayat, with O.M. Sreenivasan Nair, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, presiding over the event. Former Gram Panchayat President P. Abdul Nasar welcomed the attendees. Retired A.D.A. Krishnanunni delivered the main address. Other notable speakers included Block Panchayat Member S.P. Shahana, U.K. Abu Haji, K.P. Ahamed Kutty Master, Convener of the Organizing Committee Sainudheen Kolathakkara, Moosa Nediyeetath, Ashraf Kakkat (Royad), A.D.A. Priya Mohan, and Agriculture Officer P.P. Raji.
Tonight (Sunday) at 7 PM, there will be a comedy show featuring popular social media celebrities Kombankad Koya and Kunjappu. The fest will conclude on February 9. Throughout the event, there will be a variety of activities, including a Trade Festival, Palliative Family Meet, a one-day mega medical camp featuring both Allopathy and Ayush treatments, a Kudumbashree Family Fest, health, education, and literary seminars, a community gathering for drug awareness, an amusement park with various entertainment activities, and nightly cultural performances by prominent artists.
