Kalpetta: വയനാട് ജില്ലയിൽ നാളെ UDF ഹർത്താൽ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. ജില്ലയിൽ രൂക്ഷമായ വന്യജീവി ആക്രമണത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ച് ഐക്യ ജനാധിപത്യമുന്നണി Wayanad ജില്ലാ കമ്മിറ്റി നാളെ ജില്ലയിൽ ഹർത്താലിന് ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്തു. ദിവസേന എന്നോണം ജില്ലയിൽ ആക്രമണത്തിൽ മനുഷ്യജീവനങ്ങൾ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടിട്ടും യാതൊരുവിധ നടപടിയും സ്വീകരിക്കാത്ത സർക്കാർ നിലപാട് പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഹർത്താൽ നടത്തുന്നതെന്ന് UDF ജില്ലാ ചെയർമാൻ കെ കെ അഹമ്മദ് ഹാജിയും കൺവീനർ പി ടി ഗോപാലക്കുറുപ്പും അറിയിച്ചു. ആവശ്യ സർവീസുകളെയും പരീക്ഷ, വിവാഹം, പള്ളിക്കുന്ന് തിരുനാൾ എന്നീ ആവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള യാത്രകളെയും ഹർത്താലിൽ നിന്ന് ഒഴിവാക്കിയതായി നേതാക്കൾ അറിയിച്ചു.
സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് രണ്ട് ദിവസത്തിനിടെ നാല് പേര്‍ക്കാണ് കാട്ടാന ആക്രമണത്തില്‍ ജീവന്‍ നഷ്ടമാകുന്നത്. ഇന്നലെ രാത്രി നടന്ന കാട്ടാന ആക്രമണത്തിൽ അട്ടമല സ്വദേശി ബാലകൃഷ്ണൻ അതിദാരുണമായി കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ഹാരിസണ്‍ മലയാളം പ്ലാന്റേഷന്റെ തേയില എസ്റ്റേറ്റിനുള്ളിലെ വഴിയിലാണ് ബാലകൃഷ്ണന്റെ മൃതദേഹം കണ്ടത്.
Kalpetta: The UDF has declared a hartal in Wayanad district tomorrow. The United Democratic Front (UDF) Wayanad district committee has called for the hartal in protest against the increasing wildlife attacks in the district. UDF district chairman K.K. Ahmed Haji and convenor P.T. Gopalakurup stated that the hartal is being organized to protest against the government’s inaction despite the recurring loss of human lives due to wildlife attacks. Essential services, exams, weddings, and travel for the Pallikkunnu festival have been exempted from the hartal, the leaders announced.
In the past two days, four people have lost their lives in wild elephant attacks in the state. Last night, Attamala resident Balakrishnan was brutally killed in an elephant attack. His body was found on a pathway inside the tea estate of Harrison Malayalam Plantations.
