The Kerala Local Self Government Department is now offering one-fourth of the fine amount as a reward to those who submit evidence of public littering. The earlier reward cap of ₹2,500 has been removed. A dedicated WhatsApp number (9446700800) has been set up, and a special control room is monitoring complaints. So far, 8,674 complaints were received, and fines totaling ₹33.5 lakhs were imposed in 439 cases. Legal action was initiated against 31 individuals. The government is emphasizing strict surveillance and encouraging the public to participate in the cleanliness initiative by reporting offenders.
