Thamarassery: Yesterday around 7:30 PM, a violent incident occurred inside a bar near Ambayathode, Thamarassery, where a young man was attacked with a beer bottle. The assailants hit him on the head with the bottle and then stabbed him using the broken glass. Following the incident, Thamarassery police arrested four individuals in connection with the attack.
The arrested are Muhammad Shamil (20) from Kaithappoyil Puthiyapura, Muhammad Abdullah (21) from Puthuppadi Cheruparambil, V.P. Arjun (21) from Mayilallampara Vellilattu, and K.R. Vaishnav (20) from Adivaram Kanalattparambil. The altercation reportedly started when the injured youth and his friends, who were drinking in the bar’s air-conditioned room, requested the nearby group to lower their noise. Provoked by this, the group attacked the youth.
The police have charged the accused with attempted murder and other related offenses. All four were produced before the Thamarassery court and have been remanded to custody.
