Perambra: A key leader of a drug mafia gang involved in the large-scale sale of MDMA among children and youth has been arrested. The accused, identified as Meledath O.P. Suneer, a resident of Kadiyangad Thekkedath Kadavu, was caught with 11.500 grams of MDMA by the police.
In the Kadiyangad and Thekkedath Kadavu areas, many young individuals addicted to drugs had been causing continuous trouble at home and in public spaces. As a result, local residents organized a collective effort against drug dealers. When Suneer arrived in the area to sell drugs, the locals restrained him and immediately informed the police.
Sub-Inspector Shameer P and the anti-narcotics squad under Perambra DySP V.V. Latheesh quickly arrived at the scene and took Suneer into custody. It was revealed that he had been leading a luxurious lifestyle funded by drug sales.
According to locals, the accused had been supplying MDMA to schoolchildren, youth, and even girls. He had also influenced several young individuals, leading them into addiction, many of whom had to be admitted to de-addiction centers. The anti-narcotics squad had been closely monitoring Suneer for a week before finally arresting him.
