Kozhikode: മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ പുക ഉയർന്ന് പരിഭ്രാന്തിയുണ്ടായത് ബാറ്ററി കത്തിയത് മൂലമെന്ന് ഫയർഫോഴ്സ്. യുപിഎസ് മുറിയിലെ മുപ്പത് ബാറ്ററികളിൽ അഞ്ച് എണ്ണം കത്തിയ നിലയിലാണെന്നാണ് ഫയർഫോഴ്സ് പ്രാഥമിക പരിശോധനയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം അറിയിച്ചത്. ആകെയുള്ള 38 ബാറ്ററികളിൽ 37 എണ്ണം കത്തിനിശിച്ചെന്ന് അധികൃതർ പറയുന്നു.
പുക ഉയരുന്നതിന് മുൻപായി മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ മൂന്ന് തവണ വൈദ്യുതി മുടങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. ഇതിന് പിന്നാലെയാണ് പുക ഉയർന്നത്. ഷോർട് സർക്യൂട്ട് മാത്രമാണോ പ്രശ്നം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ബാറ്ററിയുടെ ഗുണനിലവാരത്തിൽ പ്രശ്നമുണ്ടോ എന്നതടക്കം പരിശോധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
A fire caused by malfunctioning batteries in the UPS room at Kozhikode Medical College led to heavy smoke and panic. Out of 38 batteries, 37 were destroyed. The incident followed multiple power outages, and authorities are investigating the cause. Health Minister Veena George ordered an inquiry. One patient reportedly died after losing ventilator support due to the smoke, prompting a police case following the family’s complaint.
