Kozhikode: Youth arrested for attacking prospective groom and bride in Elathur. Nikhil S. Nair, a native of Kundupparamba, was taken into custody by the Elathur police. The attack happened after the groom confronted the accused for making sexually suggestive gestures toward the bride-to-be.
The incident occurred yesterday evening. The couple had stopped at the Puthiyangadi petrol pump to refuel their bike when the accused, who was nearby, made inappropriate gestures toward the woman. When the prospective groom questioned him, a physical altercation broke out.
Following this, the accused used a weapon he was carrying to brutally assault both the groom and the bride-to-be. Police were immediately informed and quickly arrested the accused.
Nikhil is a repeat offender with previous cases against him and was already under surveillance under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA).
