Kozhikode: ജല അതോറിറ്റിയുടെ കുടിവെള്ള ടാപ്പില്‍ നിന്ന് വെള്ളം മോഷ്ടിച്ച സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയുടെ കണക്ഷന്‍ അധികൃതര്‍ വിച്ഛേദിച്ചു. വടകരയിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിക്കെതിരെയാണ് നടപടി. ജല അതോറിറ്റിയുടെ വിതരണ ലൈനില്‍ നിന്ന് അനധികൃതമായി പൈപ്പ് ലൈന്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ച് കുടിവെള്ളം ചോര്‍ത്തുന്നതായി പരിശോധനയിൽ കണ്ടെത്തി.
ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ ജല അതോറിറ്റിയുടെ മൂന്ന് കണക്ഷനുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇതില്‍ ഒന്ന് ഉടമസ്ഥന്റെ ആവശ്യപ്രകാരം ഡിസ്‌കണക്ട് ചെയ്തു. അവശേഷിച്ച രണ്ട് കണക്ഷനുകളില്‍ നിരന്തരം റീഡിംഗ് കാണിക്കാത്തത് മീറ്ററിന്റെ തകരാര്‍ മൂലമാകാം എന്ന നിഗമനത്തില്‍ ഒരു കണക്ഷനിലെ മീറ്റര്‍ മാറ്റി പുതിയത് സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരുന്നു.
പിന്നെയും റീഡിംഗ് കാണിക്കാതെ വന്നപ്പോഴാണ് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ പരിശോധന നടത്തിയത്ജല അതോറിറ്റിയുടെ പ്രധാന വിതരണ പൈപ്പില്‍ നിന്ന് വാട്ടര്‍ മീറ്റര്‍ ഇല്ലാതെ നേരിട്ട് കുടിവെള്ളം ചോര്‍ത്തുന്നതായി അധികൃതര്‍ നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയില്‍ കണ്ടെത്തിയതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് നടപടി.
Kozhikode: Authorities disconnected the water connection of a private hospital in Vadakara for illegally siphoning drinking water from the Kerala Water Authority’s (KWA) main supply line. During an inspection, it was found that the hospital had installed an unauthorized pipeline to divert water directly from the main line.
The hospital had three official water connections. One was disconnected earlier at the owner’s request. For the remaining two, authorities had previously replaced a faulty water meter assuming it was causing irregular readings. However, after continued issues with the readings, a detailed inspection revealed that the hospital was illegally drawing water without a meter from the main distribution line. Action was taken immediately based on these findings.
