Omassery: A public hearing related to the social audit of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) was organized in Omassery. The event, held at the community hall, saw the participation of over a hundred people from various sections of society. The audit covered the activities carried out under the employment guarantee scheme in the panchayat from April 1 to September 30, 2024.
The public hearing was conducted after completing the entry meeting, file verification, and site visits of the work locations. Panchayat President P.K. Gangadharan inaugurated the session, while the Development Standing Committee Chairman Yoonus Ambalakkandi presided over the event. Other attendees included Health and Education Standing Committee Chairman K. Karunakaran Master, Welfare Standing Committee Chairperson Zeenath Thattanchery, panchayat members C.A. Ayisha Teacher, Beena Padmadas, M. Sheela, Panchayat Secretary K. Girish Kumar, Assistant Secretary P. Brajesh Kumar, Accredited Engineer of the employment guarantee scheme A.K. Fathwin Muhammad, and Overseer T.T. Febin Fahad.
