വ്യാഴാഴ്ച ഉച്ചയോടെയാണ് താമരശ്ശേരിയില്‍ സ്വകാര്യ ട്യൂഷന്‍ സെന്ററില്‍ ഉണ്ടായ അക്രമ സംഭവത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട പത്താം ക്ലാസ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥി ഷഹബാസിന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍, Kozhikode PWD ഗസ്റ്റ്ഹൗസില്‍ വച്ച് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയെ കണ്ടത്.
കേസില്‍ നീതി ഉറപ്പാക്കുമെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. തന്റെ മകന്‍ കൊല്ലപ്പെടാന്‍ കാരണക്കാരായ കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കെതിരെ മാത്രം നടപടിയെടുത്താല്‍ പോരായെന്നും, കുറ്റാരോപിതരായ മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ക്കെതിരെയും പ്രേരണക്കുറ്റത്തിന് കേസെടുക്കണമെന്നും ഷഹബാസിന്റെ പിതാവ് ഇഖ്ബാല്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
ഭര്‍ത്താവ് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയ ഈങ്ങാപ്പുഴ സ്വദേശിനി ഷിബിലയുടെ ബന്ധു അബ്ദുല്‍ മജീദും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായി കൂടിക്കാഴ്ച നടത്തി. കൊല്ലപ്പെടുന്നതിന് തൊട്ടുമുമ്പ് ഷിബില ഭര്‍ത്താവിനെതിരെ നല്‍കിയ പരാതി അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതില്‍ വീഴ്ച വരുത്തിയ മുഴുവന്‍ പൊലീസുകാര്‍ക്കെതിരെയും നടപടിയെടുക്കണമെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടതായി അബ്ദുല്‍ മജീദ് പറഞ്ഞു. കേസുകളില്‍ തുടര്‍നടപടി ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതില്‍ ഒരു ആശങ്കയും വേണ്ടെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഇരുകുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഉറപ്പുനല്‍കി.

The Chief Minister assured them that justice would be served in the case. Shahbaz’s father, Iqbal, insisted that action should not be limited to the students involved but should also extend to the parents responsible for inciting the violence.
Abdul Majeed, a relative of Shibil, the Engapuzha native who was murdered by her husband, also met with the Chief Minister. He requested action against all police officers who failed to properly investigate Shibil’s complaint before she was killed. The CM assured both families that further action in these cases would be taken without any delay.
