Koodaranji: നായാട്ടിനായെത്തിയ യുവാക്കളെ നിറതോക്കുകളുമായി വനം വകുപ്പ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു. Koodaranji സ്വദേശികളായ റെനോന്‍(39), ടിബിന്‍(39) എന്നിവരാണ് മലപ്പുറം അരീക്കോട് കൊടുമ്പുഴ വനംവകുപ്പ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരുടെ പിടിയിലായത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം പുലര്‍ച്ചെ മൂന്നോടെ കൂടരഞ്ഞി-കക്കാടംപൊയില്‍ റോഡില്‍ കള്ളിപ്പാറയില്‍ വെച്ചാണ് സംഭവം.
സകൂട്ടറില്‍ സഞ്ചരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു റെനോനും ടിബിനും. ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി റേഞ്ച് ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഓഫിസര്‍ നാരായണന്റെ നിര്‍ദേശ പ്രകാരം വാഹന പരിശോധന നടത്തുകയായിരുന്ന വനം വകുപ്പ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ കണ്ട് കടന്നുകളയാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് ഇരുവരും പിടിയിലാകുന്നത്. സെക്ഷന്‍ ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഓഫിസര്‍ ഷിജി, ഡിജില്‍ ബീറ്റ് ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഓഫീസര്‍ അമല്‍ വിജയന്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നാണ് ഇരുവരെയും അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തത്. കൂടുതല്‍ പരിശോധിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ തിരനിറച്ച തോക്കും അഞ്ച് തിരകളും കണ്ടെത്തുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇവരെ മഞ്ചേരി കോടതിയില്‍ ഹാജരാക്കി റിമാന്‍ഡ് ചെയ്തു. അതേസമയം പിടികൂടിയവരെ വനം വകുപ്പ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥര്‍ മര്‍ദ്ദിച്ചതായി പരാതി ഉയര്‍ന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്.
Koodaranji: Forest officials arrested two youths who came for illegal hunting with loaded rifles. The arrested individuals are Renon (39) and Tiben (39), both natives of Koodaranji. They were caught by officials of the Malappuram Areekode Kodumpoozha Forest Department in the early hours of the day near Kallippara on the Koodaranji-Kakkadampoyil road.
The two were traveling on a scooter when they encountered the forest department team, who were conducting vehicle inspections under the instructions of Deputy Range Forest Officer Narayanan. When they attempted to flee, they were intercepted and taken into custody.
Upon further inspection, a loaded rifle and five bullets were recovered from their possession. The arrest was made by Section Forest Officer Shiji and Beat Forest Officer Amal Vijayan. The accused were later produced before the Manjeri court and remanded.
Meanwhile, there have been allegations that the arrested individuals were physically assaulted by the forest officials.
