മലയോര ഹൈവേ കോടഞ്ചേരി-കക്കാടംപൊയിൽ റീച്ചിലെ ആനക്കല്ലുംപാറ-താഴെ കക്കാട് കണക്ടിംഗ് റോഡ് പ്രവൃത്തി ടെൻഡർ ചെയ്തു. നേരത്തെ മലയോര ഹൈവേ പ്രവൃത്തിയുടെ ഭാഗമായ അലൈൻമെന്റിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നെങ്കിലും കിഫ്ബി വ്യവസ്ഥകൾക്ക് വിധേയമാകാത്തതിനാൽ ഈ പ്രദേശം അലൈൻമെന്റിൽ നിന്ന് ഒഴിവാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. അനക്കലുംപാറ- അകമ്പുഴ വഴി റോഡ് യാഥാർഥ്യമാകുന്നതോടെ ദീർഘ നാളത്തെ പ്രദേശ വാസികളുടെആവശ്യത്തിനാണ്‌ പരിഹാരമാവുന്നത്.
2006 ൽ ഉപതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ധനകാര്യ മന്ത്രി ആയിരുന്ന Dr ടി എം തോമസ് ഐസക്ക് സ്ഥലം സന്തർശിച് റോഡ് യാഥാർത്ഥ്യമാക്കും എന്നറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. 2016 ൽ അധികാരത്തിൽ വന്ന എൽ.ഡി.എഫ് ഗവൺമെന്റ്‌ കിഫ്ബി പദ്ധതിയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി മലയോര ഹൈവേ നിർമ്മിക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചപ്പോൾ ആനക്കല്ലുംപാറ-അകമ്പുഴ പ്രദേശവാസകളെ പരിഗണിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് റോഡ് അലൈൻമെന്റ് വലിയ പരിശ്രമത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഈ പ്രദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നു പോകുന്നതിന് തീരുമാനിച്ചു.
എfന്നാൽ ഹിൽ ഹൈവേ സ്റ്റാന്റേർഡ് അനുസരിച്ചു നിർമ്മാണം പ്രസ്‌തുത സ്ഥലത്തു നിർമ്മിക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തതിനാൽ ആ ഭാഗം ഹിൽ ഹൈവേയിൽ നിന്ന് ഒഴിവാക്കപ്പെട്ടു. പിന്നീട് നടന്ന നിരന്തരമായ ഇടപെടലിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി 26.5 കോടി രൂപ പ്രസ്‌തുത റോഡ് കണക്റ്റിംഗ് റോഡ് ആയി നവീകരിക്കാൻ അനുവദിച്ചു. ഇപ്പോൾ ടെൻഡർ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്‌. 6 മീറ്റർ വീതിയിലാണ് പ്രവൃത്തി നടക്കുക. 2 പാലങ്ങൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ 7.2 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരമാണ് പ്രവൃത്തി.
The Anakkallumpara-Thazhe Kakad Connecting Road, part of the Kodanchery-Kakadampoyil reach of the Hill Highway, has been tendered for construction. Initially, this stretch was included in the highway alignment, but it was later excluded due to KIFBI regulations. However, following persistent efforts, the project has now been approved, offering a long-awaited solution for local residents. The road, spanning 7.2 kilometers with a width of 6 meters, will include two bridges and is being developed with an allocated budget of ₹26.5 crore. The demand for this road dates back to 2006, when then Finance Minister Dr. T. M. Thomas Isaac had promised its realization. In 2016, after the LDF government took office, the Hill Highway project was included under KIFBI, and efforts were made to ensure the road alignment would pass through Anakkallumpara and Akampuzha. However, due to Hill Highway standards, this particular stretch was later excluded. Now, after continued interventions, the road has been sanctioned as a connecting route, and the tendering process has been completed, paving the way for construction to begin soon.
