Gudalur: ഊട്ടിയിലേക്ക് വിനോദയാത്രപോയ മലയാളി യുവാവ് കടന്നൽ കുത്തേറ്റ് മരിച്ചു. സുഹൃത്തുക്കളിൽ ഒരാളെ ഗുരുതര പരിക്കോടെ സുൽത്താൻ ബത്തേരിയിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. കോഴിക്കോട് വടകര സ്വദേശി സാബിത്ത് (26) ആണ് മരിച്ചത്.
സുഹൃത്ത് ആസിഫിനെ (26) പരിക്കുകളോടെ ആദ്യം ഗൂഡല്ലൂർ ജില്ല ആശുപത്രിയിലും പിന്നീട് സുൽത്താൻ ബത്തേരിയിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിലും പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. മറ്റൊരു സുഹൃത്ത് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. ബുധനാഴ്ച വൈകീട്ട് മൂന്നു മണിയോടെയാണ് ദാരുണ സംഭവം. ഗൂഡല്ലൂർ ഊട്ടി ദേശീയപാതയിലെ നടുവട്ടത്തിന് സമീപമുള്ള നീഡിൽ റോക്ക് ഭാഗത്തെ വനംവകുപ്പ് വിനോദസഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രത്തിൽ വെച്ചാണ് കടന്നൽ കുത്തേറ്റത്.
കടന്നൽ കൂടിന് കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ തേനീച്ചകൾ ഇളകിയെന്നാണ് പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്. കടന്നൽ കുത്തേറ്റ സാബിത്ത് ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നതിനിടെ വീണും പരിക്കേറ്റു. ഗൂഡല്ലൂർ ഫയർഫോഴ്സും വനപാലകരും പൊലീസും നാട്ടുകാരും ചേർന്നാണ് രക്ഷാപ്രവർത്തനം നടത്തിയത്.

 

 

Gudalur: A Malayali youth who went on a trip to Ooty died after being gored by a bison. One of his friends was seriously injured and has been admitted to a private hospital in Sultan Bathery. The deceased has been identified as Sabith (26) from Vadakara, Kozhikode.

His friend Asif (26) sustained injuries and was initially taken to Gudalur District Hospital before being shifted to a private hospital in Sultan Bathery. Another friend managed to escape unharmed.

The tragic incident occurred around 3 PM on Wednesday near Needle Rock, a popular eco-tourism spot along the Gudalur-Ooty National Highway. It is reported that the bison charged after stones were thrown at its resting place, causing a swarm of bees to get disturbed. Sabith, who was attacked by the bison, tried to run but fell and sustained severe injuries.

Rescue operations were carried out by Gudalur Fire Force, forest officials, police, and local residents.
