വളാഞ്ചേരിയിലെ HIV റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകളുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ മലപ്പുറം ജില്ലാ ഭരണകൂടം അടിയന്തര യോഗം ചേരാനിരിക്കുകയാണ്. തുടര്‍നടപടികള്‍ സംബന്ധിച്ച് യോഗത്തില്‍ തീരുമാനമെടുക്കും. HIV സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചതില്‍ ഇതര സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് തൊഴിലിനായി എത്തിയവരും ഉണ്ടെന്നാണ് വിവരം. പ്രാഥമിക ചികിത്സ നല്‍കിയശേഷം വീട്ടില്‍ വിശ്രമിക്കാനാണ് ഡോക്ടേഴ്‌സ് ഇവരോട് നിലവില്‍ നിര്‍ദേശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
Malappuram: 9 Test HIV Positive in Valancherry Due to Shared Syringes. Valancherry has reported nine cases of HIV, with indications suggesting the infection spread due to shared syringe use for drug consumption. All nine individuals who tested positive are friends.
The infection came to light during a health department survey when one person was diagnosed with HIV. Subsequent tests conducted by the AIDS Control Society confirmed the infection in nine individuals. Preliminary investigations by the health department revealed that the virus spread among them due to the shared use of syringes for drug injections. All those infected are drug users, and some are married. Authorities are now conducting further tests to determine if more individuals have been affected.
In response to these HIV cases, the Malappuram district administration is set to hold an emergency meeting to discuss further actions. Reports suggest that some of the infected individuals include migrant workers from other states. Doctors have advised those affected to undergo initial treatment and rest at home.
