Thiruvambady: Dengue prevention efforts have been strengthened through a joint initiative by the Thiruvambady Grama Panchayat and the Family Health Centre. The ‘Let’s Move to Plantations’ campaign was launched to inspect rubber, areca nut, and cocoa plantations for mosquito breeding, issue notices to plantation owners, and destroy breeding sites. Dr. K.V. Priya emphasized the need for community participation in these efforts due to the increased risk of mosquito breeding following the summer rains. Local officials and health inspectors actively participated in the campaign.
