The Kerala Malanad Marketing Society inaugurated a new rubber and coconut storage depot along with a coconut oil sales center in Milmukku, Thiruvambady. The event was officially opened by Kerala State Marketing Federation Chairman Adv. Soni Sebastian, who used the occasion to highlight the urgent need for government action against the sale of adulterated coconut oil, which is sold at abnormally low prices despite high production costs and is linked to serious health risks like cancer.
During the event, Adv. Sebastian also honored Charlie Parayankuzhi, who represented India at the 21st World Whistling Championship held in China. The ceremony was presided over by Babu Paikkatt, President of the Thiruvambady Marketing Society, and was attended by various political and cooperative society leaders, including district panchayat members, cooperative bank directors, former panchayat presidents, and local ward members. Several board members and community leaders also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of safe, quality products and effective marketing infrastructure in supporting local farmers and consumers.
