Kodiyathur പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ Thottumukkam Madambi Kakkanad മാത്യുവിൻ്റെ വീട്ടിലെ വളർത്തു നായയെയാണ് കൊണ്ടുപോയത്. ചങ്ങലയിൽ നായയുടെ തല മാത്രമാണ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. നായയെ കൊണ്ടുപോയത് പുലി ആണെന്നാണ് നാട്ടുകാരുടെ സംശയം. നാട്ടുകാർ വിവരം അറിയിച്ചതിനെ തുടർന്ന് ഫോറസ്റ്റ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ സ്ഥലത്തെത്തി പരിശോധന തുടങ്ങി. Peedikappara Section Deputy Range Forest Officer സുബീർ പിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള സംഘമാണ് സ്ഥലത്ത് എത്തിയത്. Kozhikode ജില്ലയുടെ കിഴക്കൻ മലയോരമേഖലയിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറേ ദിവസമായി പുലിയെ കണ്ടതായി നാട്ടുകാർ ആരോപിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
പതിനൊന്നര ആയപ്പോൾ രണ്ട് നായകളും വല്ലാതെ കുരച്ചു. കള്ളൻമാരാണോ എന്ന് നോക്കാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് വന്നു. ലൈറ്റടിച്ച് ആരേയും കണ്ടില്ല. ഒരു നായ് മാത്രം അനങ്ങുന്നില്ല. അടുത്ത് ചെന്ന് നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ ചോരയൊലിപ്പിക്കുന്ന നിലയിലായിരുന്നുവെന്ന് വീട്ടുകാർ പറയുന്നു.
Thottumukkam: Locals reported spotting a tiger in Thottumukkam, and a pet dog was found killed. The incident occurred at the house of Mathai in Madampi, Kakanad, under Kodiyathur Panchayat. Only the dog’s head was left attached to the chain, raising suspicion that a tiger was responsible. Following the report from the locals, forest officials arrived at the scene and initiated an inspection. A team led by Deputy Range Forest Officer Subir P. from the Peedikapara section conducted the investigation.
Residents of the eastern hilly region of Kozhikode district have been claiming to have seen a tiger in recent days. Around 11:30 PM, both dogs started barking aggressively. Assuming it might be intruders, the family turned on the lights but saw no one. Upon checking closely, they found one dog motionless and bleeding heavily.
