Thamarassery–Koyilandy സംസ്ഥാന പാതയിൽ താമരശ്ശേരിക്ക് സമീപം ചാലക്കരയിൽ ലോറിയിടിച്ച് രണ്ടു പേർക്ക് പരുക്ക്. ട്യൂഷൻ കഴിഞ്ഞ് മടങ്ങുകയായിരുന്ന ചാലക്കര സ്വദേശി റിസ ഖദീജ (14), മഴയത്ത് മരത്തിന് താഴെ നിർത്തിയ ബൈക്കിലെ യാത്രക്കാരൻ തച്ചംപൊയിൽ അവേലം തിയ്യരുതൊടിക മുഹമ്മദ് റാഫി (42) എന്നിവർക്കാണു പരുക്കേറ്റത്.
ബാലുശ്ശേരി ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നും അമിതവേഗതയിൽ എത്തിയ മിനിലോറിയാണ് അപകടത്തിനിടയാക്കിയത്. മദ്യലഹരിയിലായിരുന്ന മിനിലോറി ഡ്രൈവർ ബാലുശ്ശേരി സ്വദേശി പ്രശാന്തിനെ നാട്ടുകാർ പൊലീസിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചു. പരുക്കേറ്റവരെ താമരശ്ശേരി താലൂക്ക് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. പരുക്കേറ്റ റിസ ഖദീജയെ വിദഗ്ധ പരിശോധനക്കായി ഓമശ്ശേരിയിലെ ശാന്തി ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി.
Thamarassery: Two people were injured in a lorry accident near Chalakara on the Thamarassery–Koyilandy State Highway. The injured are Riza Khadeeja (14), a resident of Chalakara who was returning home after tuition, and Muhammad Rafi (42) from Thachampoyil Avelam Thiyyaruthodika, who was on a bike parked under a tree during the rain.
The accident occurred when a speeding mini lorry coming from the Balussery side lost control. The lorry driver, Prashanth from Balussery, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and was handed over to the police by local residents. The injured were admitted to Thamarassery Taluk Hospital, and Riza Khadeeja was later shifted to Shanti Hospital in Omassery for specialist care.
