Vadakara: വടകരയിൽ കഞ്ചാവുമായി ദമ്പതികൾ പിടിയിൽ. മയ്യന്നൂർ പാറക്കൽ വീട്ടിൽ അബ്ദുൽ കരീം, ഭാര്യ റുഖിയ (46) എന്നിവരാണ് വടകര എക്സൈസിന്റെ പിടിയിലായത്. ഇന്നലെ വൈകീട്ട് പഴങ്കാവിൽ നിന്നുമാണ് അബ്ദുൾ കരീം പിടിയിലാവുന്നത്. സംശയം തോന്നി എസൈസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ കരീമിനെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തതോടെയാണ് കഞ്ചാവ് പിടിച്ചെടുത്തത്. ഇയാളിൽ നിന്നും 10ഗ്രാം കഞ്ചാവാണ് കണ്ടെത്തിയത്.
തുടർന്ന് നടത്തിയ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യലിൽ വീട്ടിൽ കഞ്ചാവ് വിൽപ്പനയ്ക്കായി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് കരീം പറഞ്ഞു. വീട്ടിൽ നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയിൽ 15ഗ്രാം കഞ്ചാവ് പിടിച്ചെടുത്തു. സംഭവത്തിൽ കരീമിന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു. വീട്ടിൽ കവറിലാക്കി സൂക്ഷിച്ച നിലയിലായിരുന്നു കഞ്ചാവ്. സമീപത്ത് നിന്നും ത്രാസും, കഞ്ചാവ് വിൽക്കാനായി സൂക്ഷിച്ച ചെറിയ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് കവറുകളും എക്സൈസ് കണ്ടെത്തി.
വടകര എക്സൈസ് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ ഷൈലേഷ് പി.എംയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയിലാണ് ദമ്പതികൾ പിടിയിലാവുന്നത്. കഞ്ചാവ് കൈവശം വെച്ച കുറ്റത്തിന് രണ്ട് പേർക്കെതിരെയും കേസ് രജിസ്റ്റർ ചെയ്തു. പരിശോധനയിൽ അസിസ്റ്റൻറ് എക്സൈസ് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ (ഗ്രേഡ്) ജയപ്രസാദ് സി.കെ, പ്രിവന്റീവ് ഓഫീസർ (ഗ്രേഡ്) രതീഷ് എ.കെ, സിവിൽ എക്സൈസ് ഓഫീസർമാരായ വിനീത് എം.പി, മുഹമ്മദ് റമീസ്, അഖിൽ കെ.എ, വനിത സിവിൽ എക്സൈസ് ഓഫീസർ നിഷ എൻ.കെ എന്നിവർ പങ്കെടുത്തു.
Vadakara: In Vadakara, a couple was arrested with cannabis. Abdul Kareem and his wife Ruqiya (46) from Mayyannur Parakkal House were taken into custody by the Vadakara Excise team. Kareem was arrested yesterday evening from Pazhankavu. Suspicious of his behavior, the excise officers questioned him, leading to the discovery of cannabis. A total of 10 grams of cannabis was seized from him.
During further interrogation, Kareem revealed that more cannabis was stored at his house for sale. A subsequent house search led to the seizure of 15 grams of cannabis. Following this, his wife was also arrested. The cannabis was found stored in packets inside the house. Additionally, a weighing scale and small plastic packets meant for selling cannabis were also discovered by the excise team.
The operation was led by Vadakara Excise Inspector Shailesh P.M. A case was registered against both individuals for possessing cannabis. The team included Assistant Excise Inspector (Grade) Jayaprasad C.K., Preventive Officer (Grade) Ratheesh A.K., Civil Excise Officers Vineeth M.P., Mohammed Rameez, Akhil K.A., and Women Civil Excise Officer Nisha N.K.
