Thiruvananthapuram: Venjaramood കൂട്ടകൊലക്കേസിലെ പ്രതി അഫാനെ പൂജപ്പുര സെൻട്രൽ ജയിലിലെ പ്രത്യേക നിരീക്ഷണ ബ്ലോക്കിലേക്ക് മാറ്റി. അഫാനൊപ്പം മറ്റൊരു തടവുകാരനുമുണ്ട്.
അഫാനെ നിരീക്ഷിക്കാൻ 24 മണിക്കൂറും ജയിൽ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരുമുണ്ട്. താനും ജീവനൊടുക്കുമെന്ന് ജയിലെത്തിയ ശേഷം അഫാൻ ജയിൽ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരോട് പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. ഇതേ തുടർന്നാണ് പ്രത്യേക നിരീക്ഷണം. കടബാധ്യതയെ തുടർന്നാണ് കൂട്ടക്കൊല നടത്തിയതെന്നാണ് ജയിൽ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരോടും അഫാൻ പറഞ്ഞത്. ഇന്നലെയാണ് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ നിന്നും അഫാനെ ജയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയത്.
അഫാനെ കസ്റ്റഡയിൽ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ടുള്ള അപേക്ഷ വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച വെഞ്ഞാറമൂട് പൊലീസ് കോടതിയിൽ നൽകും. ഇന്ന് അപേക്ഷ നൽകാനായിരുന്നു തീരുമാനമെങ്കിലും അഫാൻറെ ആരോഗ്യ-മാനസിക നില നോക്കിയ ശേഷം നൽകാമെന്ന് തീരുമാനിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. കടബാധ്യത മൂലമുള്ള ബന്ധുകളുടെ അധിക്ഷേപമാണ് കൂട്ടക്കൊലക്ക് കാരണമെന്ന് പ്രതി അഫാൻ ജയിൽ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരോടാണ് പറഞ്ഞു. കൂട്ടക്കൊലയെ കുറിച്ച് അഫാൻ വിവരിച്ചു. മനുഷ്യനെ മൃഗീയമായി കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയതിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്താപമൊന്നുമില്ലാതെയായിരുന്നു വിവരണം.
അമ്മ മരിച്ചുവെന്ന് കരുതിയാണ് മറ്റുള്ളവരെ കൊന്നത്. ബന്ധുക്കൾ സ്ഥിരമായി ആക്ഷേപിച്ചു. കൊല്ലുന്നതിന്ന് മുമ്പ് കാമുകിയോടും അനുജനോടും കൊലപാതകങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തത് പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നുവെന്നും അഫാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ താനും മരിക്കുമെന്ന് അഫാൻ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരോട് പറഞ്ഞതിനെ തുടർന്ന് അഫാനെ ജയിലിൽ പ്രത്യേക നിരീക്ഷണത്തിലാക്കി.
Thiruvananthapuram: Afan, the prime accused in the Venjaramood massacre case, has been shifted to a special surveillance block at Poojappura Central Jail. Another inmate is also housed with him, and jail authorities are monitoring him 24/7. After reaching the jail, Afan reportedly told officials that he too would end his life, leading to his placement under special observation. He revealed that financial debt was the reason behind the multiple murders.
Yesterday, Afan was transferred from the Medical College Hospital to the jail. The Venjaramood police will file a petition on Friday seeking his custody for further investigation. The decision to delay the petition was made after evaluating his physical and mental condition.
Afan told jail officials that constant humiliation from relatives due to his debts led him to commit the crime. He believed that his mother had passed away, which triggered his violent actions. Before the killings, Afan allegedly confessed his plan to his lover and younger brother. Despite detailing the brutal murders, he showed no remorse. His statement about ending his own life prompted authorities to keep him under strict surveillance in jail.
