Kalpetta: A man attempted suicide after killing his wife in Kenichira, Wayanad. The deceased has been identified as Lisha (39), a resident of Kenichira. Her husband, Jinson (43), who attempted suicide by slitting his wrist, is in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
The incident occurred on Sunday night. Jinson is a water authority pump operator. According to preliminary reports, Jinson allegedly strangled Lisha to death following an argument over financial debt. He had informed his friends over the phone that he was going to end his life due to his financial crisis, and later went on to kill his wife.
It is reported that Jinson locked their two children in a room before committing the crime and attempting suicide. A suicide note, believed to have been written by Jinson, was also found at the residence.
