Wayanad: വയനാട് ജില്ലയിൽ റെഡ് അലർട്ട് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ വിനോദ സഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ നിയന്ത്രണം ഏർപ്പെടുത്തി. എടക്കൽ ഗുഹയിലേക്കുള്ള സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ പ്രവേശനം നിരോധിച്ചു. കുറുവ, കാന്തൻപാറ, പൂക്കോട്, കർളാട് കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലെ ബോട്ടിങ് നിർത്തിവെച്ചു. പാർക്കുകൾ തുറന്നു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുമെങ്കിലും ജില്ലയിലെ എല്ലാ സാഹസിക വിനോദങ്ങളും ജലവിനോദങ്ങളും കർശനമായി നിരോധിച്ചതായി DTPC സെക്രട്ടറി അറിയിച്ചു.
ജലനിരപ്പ് ഉയരുന്നതിനാൽ കണ്ണൂർ പഴശ്ശി അണക്കെട്ടിന്റെ ഷട്ടറുകൾ മെയ് 21 ബുധനാഴ്ച രാവിലെ 10 മണി മുതൽ മറ്റൊരു അറിയിപ്പ് കൂടാതെ തുറന്ന് ജലവിതാനം ക്രമീകരിക്കും. വളപട്ടണം പുഴയുടെ ഇരുകരകളിലും താമസിക്കുന്നവരും പൊതുജനങ്ങളും ജാഗ്രത പാലിക്കണമെന്ന് പഴശ്ശി ജലസേചന വിഭാഗം എക്‌സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് എൻജിനീയർ അറിയിച്ചു.
In view of the red alert declared in Wayanad district, authorities have imposed restrictions at various tourist destinations. Entry to Edakkal Caves has been prohibited. Boating activities at Kuruva Island, Kanthanpara, Pookode Lake, and Karlad Lake have been suspended. Though parks will remain open, all forms of adventure and water-based tourism have been strictly banned, according to the DTPC Secretary.
Due to rising water levels, the shutters of the Pazhassi Dam in Kannur will be opened starting from 10 AM on Wednesday, May 21, until further notice. Residents and the public living along both banks of the Valapattanam River have been advised to remain alert, informed the Executive Engineer of the Pazhassi Irrigation Division.
