Kalpetta: വയനാട്ടിൽ വീണ്ടും കാട്ടാന ആക്രമണത്തിൽ ഒരാൾ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു. Wayanad അട്ടമലയിലാണ് സംഭവം. അട്ടമല സ്വദേശിയായ ബാലനാണ്(27) കാട്ടാന ആക്രമണത്തിൽ ജീവൻ നഷ്ടമായത്. കഴിഞ്ഞദിവസം വയനാട് നൂൽപ്പുഴയിലും കാട്ടാന ആക്രമണത്തിൽ ഒരാൾ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. ഒരാഴ്ചയ്ക്കിടെ കേരളത്തിൽ കാട്ടാനയാക്രമണത്തിൽ നാലുപേരാണ് കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടത്.
മുണ്ടക്കൈ ചൂരൽമല ഉരുൾപ്പൊട്ടൽ ബാധിത മേഖലയോട് ചേർന്ന പ്രദേശമാണ് അട്ടമല. ബെയിലി പാലം കടന്ന് എത്തിച്ചേരുന്ന ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് വളരെക്കുറച്ച് ആളുകൾ മാത്രമാണ് താമസിക്കുന്നത്. ഉരുൾപ്പൊട്ടലിന് ശേഷം ഇവിടെ കാട്ടാനശല്യം രൂക്ഷമാണെന്ന് അറിയിച്ചിട്ടും വേണ്ട നടപടികൾ സ്വീകരിച്ചില്ലെന്നാണ് നാട്ടുകാരുടെ ആരോപണം. കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസവും വയനാട്ടിൽ കാട്ടാന ആക്രമത്തിൽ ഒരാൾ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. നീലഗിരി ജില്ലയിലെ മെഴുകൻമൂല ഉന്നതിയിൽ താമസിക്കുന്ന മാനു (46) ആണ് കാട്ടാന ആക്രമണത്തിൽ നൂൽപ്പുഴയിൽ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടത്. തിങ്കളാഴ്‌ച രാത്രി എട്ടോടെ ജോലികഴിഞ്ഞ് തറവാട്ടുവീട്ടിലേക്ക് സാധനങ്ങളുംവാങ്ങി വരുന്നവഴിയിലായിരുന്നു ആന ആക്രമിച്ചത്. വീടിന് ഇരുനൂറുമീറ്ററോളം അകലെയുള്ള വയലിലാണ് മൃതദേഹം കണ്ടത്. ആനയുടെ കൊമ്പ് ശരീരത്തിലാഴ്ന്ന‌് ആന്തരികാവയവങ്ങൾ പുറത്തുവന്നനിലയിലായിരുന്നു. നാട്ടുകാരുടെ പ്രതിഷേധത്തെ ത്തുടർന്ന് ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് 11.45-ഓടെ മാത്രമേ മാനുവിൻ്റെ മൃതദേഹം സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് മാറ്റാനായുള്ളൂ. ഈ സംഭവത്തിൽ വലിയ പ്രതിഷേധമാണ് വയനാട്ടിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം അരങ്ങേറിയത്. ഇതിനുപിന്നാലെയാണ് മറ്റൊരാൾ കൂടി കാട്ടാന ആക്രമണത്തിൽ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്.

Attamala is a region adjacent to the landslide-affected area of Mundakkai Churalmala. This area, accessible via the Bailey Bridge, has very few residents. Despite warnings about elephant disturbances in the area after the landslide, no measures were taken, according to the locals. Just the previous day, another person was killed in a wild elephant attack in Wayanad. Manu (46), a resident of Melukanmoola in Nilgiris district, was killed in an elephant attack in Noolpuzha. The attack took place on Monday night around 8 PM when Manu was returning home after work, carrying some goods. His body was found about 200 meters away from his house in a field. The elephant’s tusk had penetrated the body, causing severe internal injuries. The body was only moved from the spot at 11:45 AM after protests from the locals. This incident triggered a significant protest in Wayanad. Shortly after, another person was killed in a wild elephant attack.
