Online ഗെയിമിഗിന്റെ പേരിൽ പുതിയതരം തട്ടിപ്പിനെ കുറിച്ച് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകി കേരള പൊലീസ്. ഗെയിം കളിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി Whatsapp ഗ്രൂപ്പിൽ ജോയിൻ ചെയ്യിപ്പിക്കുകയും തുടർന്ന് Game സൈറ്റിൽ കയറാൻ ഒരു Link അയച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതാണ് രീതി.
ലിങ്കിൽ കയറുമ്പോൾ ഗിഫ്റ്റ് ബോക്സ് ലഭിക്കുകയും അതിൽ നിന്നു Golden ring, Diamond necklace തുടങ്ങിയവ ഓഫർ വിലയിൽ ലഭിച്ചു എന്ന സന്ദേശം കിട്ടുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് പണം കൊടുത്ത്‌ ഗിഫ്റ്റ് വാങ്ങിക്കഴിയുമ്പോൾ നല്ലൊരു ലാഭത്തിൽ തന്നെ ആ സൈറ്റിൽ വിൽക്കാൻ തട്ടിപ്പുകാർ സഹായിക്കുന്നു.
കിട്ടിയ ലാഭ കണക്കുകൾ കാണിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് വലിയ വിലയുള്ള ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ വാങ്ങാൻ പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ലക്ഷങ്ങൾ വിലയുള്ള സാധനങ്ങൾ വാങ്ങാൻ പണം നൽകി കഴിയുമ്പോൾ വിൽക്കാൻ ആളെ കിട്ടാതെ ആകുന്നു. പണം തിരിച്ചു കിട്ടാതെ ആകുമ്പോൾ ആണ് പറ്റിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നുള്ള കാര്യം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നത്. പോയ പണം തിരിച്ചു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോൾ സെക്യൂരിറ്റി ഡെപ്പോസിറ്റ് ആയി ലക്ഷങ്ങൾ നൽകാൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു. ഇത്തരം തട്ടിപ്പുകളിൽ പെടാതിരിക്കാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കണമെന്ന് പൊലീസ് മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നൽകി.

Kerala Police has issued a warning regarding a new type of online scam linked to gaming. Scammers add users to WhatsApp groups for gaming and then send a link to a gaming site.
Upon clicking the link, users receive a “gift box” with messages claiming they have won items like golden rings or diamond necklaces at discounted prices. After purchasing these gifts, scammers persuade victims to sell them on the same platform for a profit.
As victims see profitable returns, they are encouraged to buy high-value items worth lakhs. However, when they try to resell, they fail to find buyers, leading to financial losses. When victims request refunds, scammers demand large security deposits, making recovery difficult.
To avoid such scams, Kerala Police advises staying vigilant and not falling for online offers. If scammed, report it within the “Golden Hour” by calling 1930 or registering a complaint at www.cybercrime.gov.in for a higher chance of recovering lost money.
