Kozhikode: Kozhikode Medical College ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സാപ്പിഴവിനെ തുടർന്ന് രോഗി മരിച്ചതായി ആരോപണം. പന്തിരിക്കര വാഴയിൽ വിലാസിനി (57)യാണ് മരിച്ചത്.
Kozhikode Medical College ആശുപത്രിയിലെ OP യിൽ ചികിത്സതേടിയ വിലാസിനിയെ ഡോക്ടർമാരുടെ നിർദ്ദേശ പ്രകാരമാണ് കഴിഞ്ഞ ചൊവ്വാഴ്‌ച ഗർഭപാത്രം നീക്കംചെയ്യാനുള്ള ശസ്ത്രക്രിയക്കായി ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചത്. വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ നടത്തി ശസ്ത്രക്രിയക്കിടെ വിലാസിനിയുടെ കുടലിന് ചെറിയ മുറിവ് പറ്റിയതായും തുന്നിട്ടതായും ഡോക്ടർമാർ ബന്ധുക്കളെ അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് വാർഡിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയ രോഗിക്ക് ഡോക്ടർമാരുടെ നിർദ്ദേശപ്രകാരം ഞായറാഴ്ച കട്ടിയുള്ള ആഹാരം നൽകി.
ഇതിന് ശേഷം വയറുവേദന അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടതോടെ ഡോക്ട‌ർമാരെ വിവരം അറിയിച്ചെന്നും ഗ്യാസ്ട്രബിളിന്റെ പ്രശ്നമാണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് മരുന്ന് നൽകിയെന്നുമാണ് ബന്ധുക്കൾ പറയുന്നത്. ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് വേദന കഠിനമായതോടെ മറ്റൊരു മരുന്നു നൽകി. വൈകുന്നേരം രോഗിയെ ഐസിയുവിലേക്ക് മാറ്റുകയും ചെയ്തു. പിന്നീട് രോഗിയുടെ ആരോഗ്യസ്ഥിതി അന്വേഷിച്ചപ്പോൾ കൃത്യമായ മറുപടി ഒന്നും നൽകിയില്ലെന്നും അണുബാധ ഉള്ളതിനാൽ വീണ്ടും ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ നടത്തണമെന്ന് ഡോക്ടർമാർ അറിയിച്ചെന്നും ബന്ധുക്കൾ പറയുന്നു. വൈകുന്നേരം ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. കുടലിൽ മുറിവുണ്ടായ സ്ഥലത്താണ് അണുബാധയെന്നും അണുബാധയുള്ള ഭാഗം മുറിച്ച് കളയണമെന്നാണ് പിന്നീട് ഡോക്ടർമാർ ബന്ധുക്കളെ അറിയിച്ചത്.
ശസ്ത്രക്രിയക്ക് ശേഷം രോഗിയുടെ ആരോഗ്യസ്ഥിതി മോശമാവുകയും വെന്റിലേറ്ററിലേക്ക് മാറ്റുകയും ചെയ്തു. അണുബാധ കരളിലേക്ക് ഉൾപ്പടെ ബാധിച്ചുവെന്ന വിവരമാണ് പിന്നീട് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ നിന്ന് ലഭിച്ചത്. സ്വകാര്യ ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റണമെന്ന് അറിയിച്ചിട്ടും ഡോക്ടർമാർ അനുവദിച്ചില്ലെന്നും ബന്ധുക്കൾ പറയുന്നു. കുടലിന് പറ്റിയ മുറിവ് കൃത്യമായി ചികിത്സിക്കാത്തതാണ് രോഗിയുടെ ആരോഗ്യസ്ഥിതി മോശമാകാനും മരണം സംഭവിക്കാനും കാരണമെന്നാണ് ബന്ധുക്കൾ പറയുന്നത്. ചികിത്സാപ്പിഴവുണ്ടായി എന്ന് കാണിച്ച് ബന്ധുക്കൾ ആശുപത്രി സൂപ്രണ്ടിനും മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജ് പോലീസിലും പരാതി നൽകിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതേസമയം, ചികിത്സാപിഴവ് ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് ആശുപത്രി അധികൃതർ പറഞ്ഞു. താക്കോൽദ്വാര ശസ്ത്രക്രിയക്കിടെ ഇത്തരം സംഭവങ്ങൾ അത്യപൂർവമാണെന്നും അധികൃതർ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു.
A 57-year-old woman named Vilasini from Panthirikkara, Kozhikode, passed away at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, allegedly due to medical negligence. She was admitted for a hysterectomy last Tuesday following doctors’ advice. During the surgery on Friday, her intestine sustained a small injury, which doctors informed the family about and sutured.
After the surgery, she was moved to the ward, and on Sunday, doctors instructed her to consume solid food. Soon after, she experienced severe abdominal pain, and when the family alerted the doctors, they were told it was a gastric issue and given medication. As the pain worsened, another medicine was administered in the afternoon, but by evening, her condition deteriorated, leading to her transfer to the ICU.
Later, doctors informed the family that an infection had developed in the affected area of the intestine, necessitating another surgery. The second surgery was performed in the evening, and it was revealed that the infection had spread to her liver. Despite the family’s request to transfer her to a private hospital, doctors did not approve it. Eventually, her condition worsened, and she passed away.
The family alleges that improper treatment of the intestinal injury caused her condition to deteriorate and has filed a complaint with the hospital superintendent and the police. However, hospital authorities denied any medical negligence, stating that such complications during laparoscopic surgery are extremely rare.
