Thrissur: വീണ്ടും ചതിയിൽപ്പെടുത്തി Google Map!. തൃശൂർ തിരുവില്വാമലയിൽ Google Map നോക്കി സഞ്ചരിച്ച കാർ വീണത് പുഴയിലേക്ക്. കാറിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന അഞ്ച് പേർ അത്ഭുതകരമായി രക്ഷപെട്ടു. ഞായറാഴ്ച രാത്രി ഏഴരയോടെ ഗായത്രിപ്പുഴയ്ക്കു കുറുകെ കൊണ്ടാഴി – തിരുവില്വാമല പഞ്ചായത്തുകളെ ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന എഴുന്നള്ളത്ത്ക്കടവ് തടയണയിലാണ് അപകടമുണ്ടായത്.
തിരുവില്വാമല ഭാഗത്തുനിന്ന് പുഴയിലെ തടയണയിലേക്കിറങ്ങിയ ഉടൻ ദിശതെറ്റി പുഴയിലേക്ക് പതിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. മറ്റൊരു കാറിൽ കൂടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ബന്ധുക്കളും നാട്ടുകാരും ചേർന്നാണ് ഇവരെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. കാർ വീണ ഭാഗത്ത് പുഴയിൽ അഞ്ചടിയോളം വെള്ളമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
മലപ്പുറം കോട്ടക്കൽ ചേങ്ങോട്ടൂർ മന്താരത്തൊടി വീട്ടിൽ ബാലകൃഷ്ണൻ (57), വിശാലാക്ഷി, രുഗ്മിണി, സദാനന്ദൻ, കൃഷ്ണപ്രസാദ്‌ എന്നിവരാണ് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടത്. കുത്താമ്പുള്ളിയിൽ നിന്നും കൈത്തറി തുണികളും മറ്റും വാങ്ങി വീട്ടിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് അപകടമുണ്ടായത്.
Google Maps has once again misled travelers, resulting in an accident in Thrissur’s Thiruvilwamala. A car, relying on Google Maps for navigation, ended up plunging into a river. Fortunately, all five passengers escaped unhurt.
The accident occurred on Sunday at around 7:30 PM at Ezhunallathkadavu check dam, which connects Kondazhi and Thiruvilwamala panchayats over the Gayathripuzha River. As the vehicle approached the check dam from the Thiruvilwamala side, it lost direction and drove straight into the river.
Family members traveling in another car, along with local residents, quickly intervened and rescued the passengers. At the accident spot, the water level in the river was about five feet deep.
The rescued passengers have been identified as Balakrishnan (57), Vishalakshi, Rugmini, Sadanandan, and Krishnaprasad, all from Mandarathodi House, Chengottur, Kottakkal, Malappuram. The accident happened while they were returning home after purchasing handloom fabrics from Kuthampully.
